Suomen kädentaidon messut / Finnish handicrafts fair

English below

Yksi arkki kauniita 3D-kuvia

Aivan ihana hame!! Haluan sellaisen!

Kalanti) kansallispuku!

Seuraavana vuonna ehdottomasti uudestaan! Ehkä kahdeksi päiväksi... enemmällä rahamäärällä?

Ostokset / Shoppings

I was first time in my life at the finnish handicrafts fair at Tampere. And it was worth it!

I wish I had a lot of money so I could've bought everything I saw and would like to own :D Oh my god people are talented!!

Still I didn't leave from there empty handed:

One sheet 3D pictures
From Sinelli five beautiful ribbons for my Christmas presents
My very first Magnolia stamp!!
And one Christmas present which I won't tell

Lot of beautiful things I have to left there and few business cards I took. I should have taken more but I just couldn't. Most of the booths were so crowded I didn't see but a glimpse what there were. And because I had set myself a time limit for three hours (which was mistake) I didn't stopped to look a bit more some interesting booths. And some of the booths you have to look very well if you wanted to find business cards, if there even were any. Luckily on the fairs site there is all of their exhibitors names and www adresses, if there is one (some didn't have).

I found all what I was looking for (Sinelli, Sinooperi, Heinikka, Tyynelän tontut, Maarit Ailio, Paperella) and lot of others which I didn't even know and some "familiar" from the Turku's Medieval Market. I remember the one place really well where there were "dresses for mistress". How lovely! I have to get one! The maker is from Helsinki, on the booth there were just seller who wasn't maker. They don't have www site of course. I got hand written business card where is only a name and number. Maybe I just have to be brave enough to call her. There's no other way.  And there were one place where was beautiful rocking horses! I want one! A lot of Christmas elves also and I was thinking of buying some nice elf decoration. But there were so much which one to choose and I had only 20 euros cash wiht me and I had atleast one "must have" thing to buy which I had decided a long time ago (Christmas present) and I didn't know how much it would cost. So I didn't dare to buy much at the beginning although I did want to, Visa electron didn't go by everywhere. I found what I was looking a little bit late and finally when I had walked all over the fair  (expect the D-hall, rock & jewellery) my time was up (and the fair was closing about an hour). I didn't remember anymore where were the finest elves. I had 15 euros left but I just decided to go. I was really tired of fancying and especially tired of the people which there were a lot! I don't enjoy that much of people at the same place at the same time :( And above all my back was really sore and so was my feet too. So I just had to call my partner to pick me up.

I also got finally find out what does Uusikirkko's (now known as Kalanti) national costume look like! It's not the prettiest one (shame) but maybe I should still get one :) Varsinais-Suomi (or is it Vakka-Suomi) college of handicrafts is making costumes there. I must to ask the prizes!

Does anyone have any experience when there would be less people on the fairs? At the first day, which was a Friday, before 4pm? At least then most of the people are day working yet but then the problem might be the school classes. Although I don't now if the handicraft fairs are as "popular" as the book fairs are (at least in my schools. Every year at high shcool we went to book fair and maybe we did one time at upper secondary school too...).

There were too much to look for, fancy and touch. There should be on two days so you could concentrate even a little. I tried to keep in my head many names and where everything was but it was impossible.

Next year definetly again! Maybe I go on two days... with more cash with me?
