Emmi Itäranta - Teemestarin kirja

English below

Takakansi:
Maailmasta on loppumassa vesi.

Aikana, jona veden kätkeminen on rikoksista pahin, sotilasvallan katse kiinittyy väistämättä teemestarin taloon...

Luin tämän kirjan Kirjallisuuden genret -kurssia varten. Kirjasta piti kirjoittaa blogipostaus kurssin blogiin. Tämä samainen kirjoitus löytyy LukeVille blogista.

Mira kertoikin jo aikaisemmin samaisesta kirjasta, joten en toista samoja asioita.

Back cover:

Water is ending from the world. Enormous disaster, maybe climate change, has shaken the mankind and now humans are holding out with shortage of water and with water regulations which are ruled over by dictatorship. Only things that has been embedded on the dump for generations and Tea masters' journals are the only memory of the past.

Noria is related to the Tea masters and soon she's accepting the title of the fully authorized Tea master and also she'll became the keeper of her predecessors' secret. During, when hiding water is the worst crime you could make, the military rule will turn their eyes inevitably towards Tea master's house...

I read this book for my Literature genres course. I had to make a blog post about the book for the course's blog. You can find this same post from the blog LukeVille.

Mira already told about the same book earlier so I won't repeat her.

This was a fine book. First, I was afraid that I would get disappointed because I heard good and bad about the book (mostly good though). I've also never really liked dystopia, at least I'm not very fond of dystopia movies. Don't get me wrong, most of the movies are good and interesting etc. but the worlds and their injustice is too much for me and I'll get really angry and after the movies I'll need some time to calm down.

In this book the world is also very unjust and rotten. The scariest thing is that this could be the reality someday (like all dystopia I've got to know). This time the difference was that everything happened in Finland which only increased the tense. But still the book isn't so oppressive it might have been. Actually the dystopia didn't troubled me as much as the movies does. I'm not sure if it was because it was book not movie, or if it was just written so well. Maybe I should read more books about dystopia and not only watch movies, maybe I could handle books better.

Mira told in her own post that she was a little bit disappointed to the book. In her opinion it was lacking the climax. I think I understand what Mira meant, but I still think that the book had a climax (luckily, I was afraid to read the book because of Mira's post :D). Of course, the book could have ended differently and in my opinion it could have make a cool trilogy or at least one sequel if things would have gone in a different way. Actually, I was hoping it would have ended differently because Mira revealed one thing from the book which I was afraid of while reading. Noria finds out a secret, but you'll never going to find out what it was. I hate books which ends like that (and lately I've been reading a lot of them). But this was a good book and it worked by itself, although, I hoped for sequel/s.
