Roald Dahl: Oswald-Eno / Roald Dahl: My Uncle Oswald

English below

Päätin vihdoin aloittaa karsimaan piiiiiiitkää kirjalistaani (omien kirjojen lisäksi siis, Hynysen kirja on edelleen kesken, kirjalistalla olevia kirjoja löydän onneksi kirjastoista).

My next post was going to be about Hugo my brother's dog who was at day care at us but because I haven't got to edit the pictures to right size yet (because we don't have the programme installed on this computer yet) so I'll tell you about a book I finished.

I decided to finally start to read the books on my looooooong booklist (of course I'm still reading the books in my bookself also, the book from Hynynen is still unfinished, luckily I can find those books on my list at library). The first book I had on that list happend to be Roald Dahl.

I had no expectations. I know Roald Dahl to be very respected author but I really don't know anything about him except he wrote fairy tales for children and actually that's why I even know him. And to be honest I thought I borrowed a fairy tail book and well, the name, My Uncle Oswald, really doesn't tell anything about the book. So it could have been fairy tale.

Oh, how wrong I could be.

It was definately not a children's fairy tale book.

That is undeniably the most lecherous and at the same time very interesting book I have ever read even though it repeats itself all the time and there really doesn't happen anything and the ending is unbeliavable. But the book is so well written I almost would have gobbled it right away if I hadn't restraind myself a little.

I have never read anything like this. And if the rest of the books by Dalh are the same verbal fireworks and as funny, entertaining and easy to read I'm really going to enjoy reading his books. I really don't know what to expect from his next book. It was said on the back cover, Dahl is "unique combination of fairy tail and horror novelist" but this book wasn't either of them. But I do trust Dahl now :)

I don't know which book to borrow next from the libabry. My list is so long but I do know the first which is on my list (George R.R. Martin: The Game of Thrones) is probably taken from the libraby for several months onward (it may be cause of the certain wonderful tv-serie which came from tv lately) so I don't think I get to borrow it for awhile yet.
