Syksy on tullut mutta palataanpa silti vielä hieman kesään. Pätkissä.

Olimme siis Suomussalmella.

Matka sinne kesti jopa alle 8 tuntia, n. 7 tuntia. Pysähdyksiä oli tosin vain kaksi. Jyväskylän jälkeen minä vaihdoin kuskin paikalle ja sitten pysähdyimme, olikos se nyt Pyhäsalmen ABC:lle, Pyhäsalmen Vaskikello paikan vieressä, ja pidettiin ruoka- ja kuvaustauko (ja vaihdettiin kuskia). Tajusin, että olen käynyt ennenkin tuolla Pyhäsalmen Vaskikellossa. Silloin olin reissussa isäni kanssa ja siitä on aikalailla aikaa.

Automatka oli kyllä kovin iloinen ja nauravainen. Kiitos Radio Rockin Korporaation. Naurua riitti :)

Aika erilaisia maisemia nähtiin kyllä. Tampere-Jyväskylä väli, ja ehkä siitä edemmäskin, oli aika vuorista. Matkan varrelta löytyikin esim. Himos ja lukuisia muita laskettelupaikkoja. Olin aina kuvitellut Himoksen olevan paljon pohjoisempana joten tämä tuli yllätyksenä. Pohjois-Pohjanmaalle (vai Pohjois-Savoon? En ole ihan varma, mielestäni näin jossain matkan varrella kyltin jossa luki Pohjois-Pohjanmaa vaikkei maakunta kartan mukaan oltu luultavasti lähelläkään...) päästyämme alkoikin Pohjanmaalle tuttu laakea. Loppua kohden lähellä Suomussalmea, varmaan oltiin jo Kainuun maakunnassa, alkoikin sitten Vaara vyöhyke ja upeat oli maisemat :)

Leirintäalueelle päästiin ja saatiin tieto avaimen paikastakin, hetki sitä kyllä etsittiin mutta onneksi löytyi. Leirintäalueella ei enää ollut työntekijöitä mutta WC/suihku oli toki auki. Hieman tylsä ensivaikutelma leirintäalueesta mutta kyllähän se ihan mukava oli loppujen lopuksi. Ainakaan muita asukkaita ei ollut joka sopi meille paremmin kuin hyvin. Mökki oli ihan viihtyisä ja juuri sopivan kokoinen. Hyttysistäkään ei ollut riesaa joka tosin saattoi johtua kovasta tuulesta. Kävimme kaupassa ja teimme ruokaa ja siinä oikeastaan oli se päivä. :) (hyvä on, kävimme myös hieman pomppimassa trampoliinissa mikä löytyi alueelta ;)).

It's autumn now but let's go little bit back to summer. In parts.

So we were at Suomussalmi.

The drive there didn't last as long as 8 hours, it was only about 7 hours. Although we did stop only twice. After Jyväskylä we changed me to driver seat and then we stopped next at ABC station at Pyhäsalmi, next to Pyhäsalmi's copper bells, where we had our food and picture break (and we changed driver). I realized I have seen those Pyhäsalmi's Copper bells earlier too. Then I was on vacation trip with my father a long time ago.

The car trip was very merry and there were lots of laughter. Thanks to Radio Rock's corporation. Oh boy, how we laughed :)

There were quite different views all the time. At Tampere-Jyväskylä road, and maybe a little bit farther too, it was very mounty. We found for example Himos and many other downhill skiing resorts. I've always imagined Himos to be more norther so this really was a suprise. At North Ostrobothnia (or was it North Savo? I'm not sure, I think I saw a sign which said we were at North Ostrobothnia  but when you look at the map where is all counties it seems like we weren't probably even near...) there began to be charasteristic Ostrobothnia flat. The last part of our trip near Suomussalmi, propaply the Kainuu county, there were lots of these big mountains which aren't fjelds though, I don't know what they are called in english but in finnish they are called 'vaara'. The views were amazing.

We get to our camping area and we get to know where our cabin's key was, we looked it for awhile but luckily we found it. There weren't any employees anymore but toilets/showers were of course still open. It was quite dull first impression of the place but we found it to be quite nice after all. At least there weren't other customers which was more than fine to us. The cabin was cozy and it was perfect size. There weren't even mosquitos almost at all but that might be cause of the hard wind. We went to market and made our dinner and that's the day :) (ok, we did went jumping a little bit in the trampolin which was at the area ;)).
