Murielin pikkuveli Ben on sairas. Koko perhe on muuttanut Ranskaan, jossa Beniä hoidetaan erikoisklinikalla. Murielia hoidot epäilyttävät. Joskus Muriel laskee kätensä Benin päälle ja antaa hänelle voimaa. Silloin Ben rauhoittuu ja äiti saa nukkua koko yön. Muriel käy koulua professori Duventin yksityisoppilaana. Professorin talo on täynnä salaisuuksia.

Muriel's little brother Ben is sick. The whole family moves to France where Ben gets treated in special clinic. The treatments looks suspicious for Muriel. Sometimes Muriel lays her hand on Ben and she giver him power. Then Ben calms down and mother can sleep her nights. Muriel attends school at professor Duvent as his private student. Professor's house is full of secrets. In the upstairs' chest there's old pictures of dead children. Who the professor is and what he does with the pictures? On one day Muriel meets Luc. Boy's dark gaze attracks irresistibly. Luc is shabby and mysterious. The love is excitingly wonderful but also scary. Muriel promises to Luc she'll never abandon him. But is it wize promise? Luc leads Muriel deep into the darkness. Is there an exit? When Ben needs Muriel's help Muriel has to make a decicion. Is there powers in the dark which could help Ben? Beautiful and touching young adults novel from Henrika Andersson seize into tender, hard to explain topics with courage and without prejudice. Exciting story moves between fantasy and realism, but there is explanation for difficult things.

I must admit I don't remember much about this book. I read it almost two months ago and I've already forgotten how the book ended. So I guess it wasn't really good book. It was ok. But not great.

I really couldn't identify on any of the characters. Luc seemed little bit interesting at first but then he just seemed stupid. At first I thought this would be somekind of a werewolf story but no. There's more of elements from magical realism.

I'm sorry, I just can't say anything about this book anymore. I really don't remember what happened...
